How long will it take to create my website?
If you have one of my basic 4 page website designs it will take 4 days from the time I
receive ALL of the information and graphics I will require from you. That 4 days includes weekends.
How much will it really cost me?
If you have one of my basic 4 page website designs it will cost you £60.00 (not a penny
more, not a penny less). I am not registered for VAT so I don't charge it.
I like some things on one design but not others. Can I mix and match?
YES. You could choose the menu from design 1 and put it with the heading style in design 3.
What if I don't like your colour scheme?
No problem, the designs show you the layouts only. You can have any colour scheme you like
just send me samples of the colours you want and they will be changed.
What do I have to do?
First of all you need to contact me and let me know that you want me to create your website.
Then you should send me the words and pictures for the site. Your printer should be able to supply a proof copy
of your Logo from your letterhead and I am sure they will be happy to Email it to me. Once I confirm that I
have received all that I need yuo should pay a deposit of £15.00 so that I can get started. I will then Email
you a password which will allow you to see how the site is progressing.
Suppose I want to change something once you have started work?
This is no problem. You can change anything while the site is in development right up to
the moment you sign it off. However, if you keep making changes (more than 4 or 5) I reserve the right to
charge you as though it was an update.
What is an update?
Once your site is up and running you may want to update it, change a price for example
What is a Domain Name?
A Domain Name is what your website is known as on the web, for example this site is known as
www.workpage.co.uk if you were to type that into the address box at the top of the page and press 'Enter' on
your key board you would be brought straight back here. If you typed www.bbc.co.uk and
pressed 'Enter' you would be taken to the BBC's website.
How much will a Domain Name cost me?
A Domain Name can cost you anything from about £15.00 to a few hundred pounds depending on what
you want it to end in (e.g: .co.ok, .com, .net etc.). If you want to be seem Internationally then you would need to
consider .com for example. Whatever the cost you will need to pay a 'renewal' fee every one or two years (depending on
the company you bought the name from). If you buy a Domain Name you must remember that you will need to get it Hosted
which is an added cost.
Do I have to buy a Domain Name?
The vast majority of people like to have their own Domain Name because they want it to reflect the
name of their business or what they do. However, if money is tight it is possible to have an Internet presence without
having your own Domain Name. (see Can I do it cheaply?)
What is Hosting?
If you think of your Domain as a person, it has to live somewhere. So you need to rent a
place for it to live and there are many companies who are more than happy to rent you space on their computers
which are constantly connected to the Internet - they act as Hosts and will charge you either an annual, or bi-annual
rent. The cost will vary depending on what services you want them to provide.
Why do I have to get my website designed?
Strictly speaking you don't, but if you took an advert in a paper you would need to supply them with
something they can print otherwise you will have paid for a blank space. So you either write something yourself, ask a
friend to do it or get a professional to do it. The same goes for the Internet.

time to time, this will involve some extra costs.
What would the total cost be?
Here is a rough example based on one of my basic packages using a Domain Name with a .co.uk
ending and about 20 megabytes of webspace:
Buying the Domain Name: £ 15.00
Hosting for 1 Year: £ 40.00
Page design (4 pages): £ 60.00
Total for 1 Year: £115.00
I am not really interested in sorting out the Domain Name and Hosting but I am willing to do it for you at a cost of £25.00.
